Singapore Japanese School Homestay and Exchange Programmes 2011

It was a rewarding year for our Primary 2, 5 and 6 Yumin Champions in 2011. They participated in the exchange programmes with Singapore Japanese School. Through this invaluable experience, they learnt the Japanese culture and way of learning and formed friendships with pupils from a different culture.

On 2 and 9 July, 11 Primary 5 Yumin Champions were involved in the homestay programme. Through staying with a foreign family, they experienced the Japanese way of life in Singapore.

Internationalisation Programme 2011 - China and Japan

In 2011, our Yumin Champions represented Singapore as student ambassadors to China. From 25 May to 1 June, a group of pupils and teachers visited Donglin School in Wuxi, China. Through the Internationalisation Programme, our pupils have become more aware of cultural diversity and relate better to Singapore's position in the global context.

From 20 to 23 August, a group of our Primary 5 Yumin Champions played host to the pupils and teachers from Kowa Nanbu Primary School in Mihama, Japan, with a home stay on 20 and 21 August.

Overseas Community Involvement Programme 2011

Our Primary 6 Yumin Champions participated in a 3D2N overseas Community Involvement Programme to Bintan, Indonesia from 10 to 12 November 2011. This programme helps to instill community-spiritedness and inculcate a strong sense of social and civic responsibility and compassion for the less fortunate in our Champions.
