Date with Dad Campaign 2012

The Date with Dad Campaign 2012 [Jan 14 – Feb 14]

“My daughter was very touched when I told her the three qualities I would wish for the man she falls in love with.”

– Nambi Viswalingam, Date with Dad 2010

A father is many things to his daughter. As a leader, protector and guide, he shapes the way she sees herself and the ideals she should seek in life. Social research has shown that all future romantic relationships in a girl’s life are influenced by the way she interacts with her dad.

For the fourth year running, Focus on the Family (FOTFS) will be organizing a month-long campaign to encourage dads to affirm their daughter’s worth by taking her out on a special date. The highlight of the campaign will be the annual High Tea event for fathers and daughters in the week of Valentine’s Day in February. In view of FOTFS’ 10th anniversary celebrations, DwD 2012 will also take on the additional component of an exclusive High Tea for prison inmates and their daughters in March.

This intimate High Tea event has seen 213 pairs attending since 2009. The program of fun bonding games, meaningful conversations and intentional letter-writing culminates in a touching presentation of the “Worth the Wait” purity ring by fathers to their daughters.
