Whole School Reading Programme (Collaboration with NLB)

The Whole School Reading Programme (WSRP) is designed to encourage students to cultivate a strong passion for reading, which will result in stronger language skills. Below are some of the programmes for our pupils.

Story Telling

NLB librarian will immerse students in a world of imagination with fascinating stories. The stories can be based on national themes, moral values, Asian culture or other themes.

Read, Swap, Share

Students come together in a mass reading session to read stories specially selected by NLB librarians, exchange ideas and pen down their thoughts about the stories.

Books Alive

The NLB librarians will share selected books with the students, which include award winning ones, good reads and popular genres. The aim is to capture student’s attention and encourage them to read.

What A Wonderful Read

 The NLB librarians conduct a workshop for our pupils. They will learn about different fiction genres and their distinct features through hands-on activities and presentation. Genres include science fiction, adventure, mystery, fantasy, horror and contemporary fiction.

Speak Good English Movement

"Speak Good English Movement" is a nationwide movement to encourage Singaporeans to speak grammatically correct English that is universally understood. 

Our pupils participated in a series of activities designed by our teachers.

P1 and P2 pupils were given prompt cards and they had to respond in proper English.

P3 and P4 pupils participated in the Poster Design Competition to promote and Speak Good English.

There were also recess activities where pupils had to correct the Singlish to Standard English.
